According to a report by The Nation on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, according to Asiwaju Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji, better known as AMBO, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Osun State in 2026, President Bola Tinubu has clearly distanced himself from the Accord Party if Governor Ademola Adeleke is unable to access the Presidential Villa.

He made the comments as he discussed recent state politics and the overall party stances in the run-up to the next election.

During Tuesday’s inauguration of 14,000 canvassers selected from the Ife Federal Constituency, Oyebamiji made the remarks.

As part of its mobilisation efforts to fortify its grassroots organization in anticipation of the 2026 governorship election, the APC organised the event.

At the rally, he spoke with assurance about his party’s readiness, saying that the APC is still in a strong position to win the state election because of its organisational strength and political clout.

Additionally, he stated that the current governor, Ademola Adeleke, lacks the necessary political support to be re-elected.

As the APC consolidates support at the grassroots level and expands its outreach, the political climate in Osun State is moving in favour of the party, according to him.

He insisted that getting canvassers on the road was critical to keeping the party in the public eye and interacting with people in different areas.

In addition, Oyebamiji claimed that the Accord Party spread false information about President Bola Tinubu’s support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign.

He claimed that these accusations were being made to manipulate public opinion in the run-up to the elections and did not represent the actual political climate.

Instead of relying on speculation or false information, he emphasised that political discourse should be factual.

He went on to say that he and President Tinubu are in constant communication on how to win the next election, bringing up their personal relationship within the national ruling party’s political structure.

In his statements, Oyebamiji insisted that his meetings with the president were part of a larger APC strategy to win state and federal elections.

Additionally, he blasted the opposition for what he saw as their contradictory political stances and actions, citing examples from both the past and the present.

He said, “President Tinubu has adopted me, and he constantly engages with me on how to win the poll. It is laughable that Adeleke wants to identify with our performing President after working against him in 2023 and showing hostility toward him.”
