According to a report by Daily Post, on Tuesday June 23, 2026, Ayodeji Ologun, the General Executive Director of the Centre for Responsive Governance, has criticised Peter Obi, accusing him of frequently misrepresenting facts and figures in public statements.

‎Ologun stated that his main concern about Obi was credibility, claiming that many of the data points the former presidential candidate presents in interviews are often inaccurate, he urged the public to verify such information before accepting it as true.

‎He further alleged that a large proportion of Obi’s figures do not stand up to fact-checking, insisting that they are most probably false when examined closely.

‎According to him, this pattern of communication raises doubts about Obi’s reliability in public discourse, he argued that political statements should be based on verified data rather than misleading or incorrect figures.

‎Ologun maintained that citizens should approach political claims with caution and avoid accepting any politician’s statements at face value without proper scrutiny.

‎”One of the reasons I don’t love Peter Obi and I will never support him is the fact that he misrepresents facts a lot. If Peter Obi gives you a figure in an interview, go and fact-check it; you are going to find it to be a lie most probably. Eighty per cent of the time, the figures he gives out are always false,” he asserted.
