In a recent interview on Arise TV, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), spoke about the party’s candidate and its expected support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Baba-Ahmed said the PRP’s candidate is from the southern part of the country but enjoys strong support across the northern region, describing it as evidence of the party’s growing national acceptance.

Speaking during the interview, Baba-Ahmed stated, “Our candidate is from the southern part of the country, but he has massive support in the North.” He made the remark while discussing the party’s electoral strategy.

According to him, the PRP is working to bridge regional divides by building a political movement that appeals to Nigerians based on ideas rather than ethnicity or geography. He added that the party’s message is gaining traction in both northern and southern states.
