BREAKING: ‘Who Is He To Deprive A Nation ‌of Its Rights?’: Pezeshkian Criticises Trump

According to a report by Al-Jazeera on Sunday, April 19, 2026, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump over Washington’s stance on Iran’s nuclear programme, arguing that no foreign leader has the authority to deny Iran what he described as its legitimate nuclear rights.

His comments, reported by the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), come amid continuing disagreement between Tehran and Washington over Iran’s nuclear activities and broader regional tensions.

Pezeshkian questioned the legal and political basis of U.S. demands restricting Iran’s nuclear programme, saying Trump had not justified such a position.

“Trump says Iran cannot make use of its nuclear rights, but doesn’t say for what crime,” he was quoted as saying. “Who is he to deprive a nation of its rights?”

The Iranian president’s remarks reflect ongoing friction between the two countries, which have remained at odds over nuclear enrichment levels, sanctions, and regional security issues. Negotiations in recent years have repeatedly stalled, with both sides accusing each other of undermining diplomatic progress.

Alongside his criticism of U.S. policy, Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s position that it is not pursuing war and is instead responding to external pressure. He said Tehran’s actions are defensive in nature and tied to what he described as legitimate self-protection in the face of military and political threats from the United States and Israel.

He also repeated allegations that both countries have targeted civilian infrastructure in Iran, describing such actions as violations of international law and evidence of double standards in the application of human rights principles.

“We have not attacked any country, and in the current situation we do not intend to attack any party, and we are simply defending ourselves legitimately,” Pezeshkian said, according to ISNA.

“It should not be suggested that Iran is seeking war. On the contrary, we are peace-loving and what we are doing is legitimate self-defence. Just as every human being reacts to aggression, a nation also defends itself against attack.”

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
