According to a report by the Times of Israel on Friday June 26, 2026, United States President Donald Trump has accused Iran of breaching the ceasefire memorandum of understanding reached last week, alleging that Tehran launched four attack drones at commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said one of the drones struck the upper deck of a large cargo ship, causing damage. Despite the impact, he said the vessel was able to continue its voyage. He also claimed that US forces intercepted and shot down the other three drones before they could reach their targets.
“Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our ceasefire agreement,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The United States president did not indicate whether Washington would respond to the alleged incident or outline any potential consequences for Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian authorities had not immediately responded publicly to the accusation.
