BREAKING: Dokubo Opens Up On Why He Converted

His Royal Highness, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri and former militant leader, has opened up about his complex spiritual evolution.

In a candid live broadcast on his official Facebook page this Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Dokubo detailed a path that saw him move from a devout Baptist Sunday school teacher to a prominent Muslim convert.

Despite his current standing as a notable figure in the Islamic community, Dokubo revealed that his early life was rooted deeply in the Christian faith, though it often left him feeling unfulfilled.

Dokubo described an upbringing steeped in Anglican tradition, living with a grandmother who maintained a daily prayer altar. However, he noted that his personal preference drew him toward the Baptist denomination.

“I cannot even remember any Sunday that I visited the Anglican church,” Dokubo shared. “I used to go to the Baptist church where I took part in their Sunday services [and] youth activities.”

His involvement was not merely superficial; Dokubo rose to significant positions of leadership within the Christian community, serving as a Sunday school teacher and later as the President of the Student Christian Movement. He also noted a period spent with the Deeper Life Bible Church.

Despite his active participation, Dokubo admitted to a growing internal void. He explained that while those around him engaged in charismatic displays of faith, he remained unconvinced.

“I saw people speaking in tongues, and I started asking questions. That’s when I started questioning my Christian faith. From that moment, my faith in Christianity started going down,” he remarked.

The journey was not a linear one. Dokubo described a “back and forth” period where he briefly explored a local mosque, returned to Christianity, and even attempted to establish his own independent religious movement centered on the “worship of the only God.”

This brief experiment, however, resulted in social backlash and a temporary return to the church.

Even after enrolling at the University of Calabar, the feeling of displacement persisted. He rejoined the Baptist Fellowship but noted, “Even the baptism didn’t give me the spiritual expectation.”

The catalyst for his permanent shift toward Islam was the global political climate of the late 20th century, specifically the Iranian Revolution. This event sparked an intellectual curiosity that led him to academic research.

Dokubo recounted spending hours in libraries reading Western perspectives on Islam and comparing them with his own observations.

He noted that while he was “pro-Iran” and intrigued by Shia theology, he ultimately carved his own path within the faith.

“I started buying books about Islam, so many books even though I was pro-Iran throughout my life, I refused to accept their fashion of Islam,” Dokubo explained.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
