Former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in the presidential primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Amaechi made the statement shortly after participating in the ADC presidential primary election at his ward in Rivers State. A video shared on the official X account of News Central TV on Monday, May 25, 2026, captured the former minister addressing supporters and speaking about the conduct of the election process.
In the video, Amaechi said the large number of supporters who turned out during the exercise gave him confidence that he would secure victory in the primary election. He also commended the electoral process in his community, describing it as transparent and properly monitored by party agents and stakeholders.
According to Amaechi, everyone involved in the process at the ward level actively participated to ensure fairness during the exercise.
“I am sure I will win the election. You saw the crowd that came out. They have counted. I think it is transparent here but I don’t know about other parts of Nigeria. I don’t know whether it is transparent or not in other places but in this community, everyone is involved, agents are involved,” he said.
The video has since attracted reactions on social media, with supporters and political observers discussing Amaechi’s optimism ahead of the outcome of the ADC presidential primary election.
