BREAKING: Why I Met with Jonathan – Peter Obi; Lagos Couple Beats Adopted Daughter to Death

Why I Met with Jonathan – Peter Obi

Former Peter Obi has described his closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan as productive, saying their discussions focused on Nigeria’s future and the need for unity, security, stability and inclusive governance. Obi said the meeting was part of his ongoing consultations with key stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Obi, Nigeria’s current economic hardship, insecurity and social divisions make it necessary for leaders across regions to work together. He stressed that the 2027 elections should be seen as a crucial opportunity to reset the country’s direction, calling for leadership driven by competence, character, capacity and compassion rather than personal ambition.

Lagos Couple Beats Adopted Daughter to Death

A couple, Paul Onyeama and Adline Ogbonna, have been arrested in the Igando area of Lagos for allegedly beating their 10-year-old adopted daughter, Faith, to death after weeks of reported abuse. Residents said the child had been consistently maltreated and forced to run strenuous errands despite reportedly being ill for about two weeks.

The suspects allegedly rushed the girl to a hospital after the incident, where she was confirmed dead on arrival. Angry youths in the area apprehended the couple before police officers from the Nigeria Police Force arrested them and recovered the body. The case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for further investigation.

Sanwo-Olu in good health, Lagos dismisses call for resignation rumours

The Lagos State Government has denied reports claiming Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was asked to resign over health concerns, describing the report as false and misleading. The government said Sanwo-Olu is in good health, mentally sound, and actively carrying out his duties without interruption.

It also clarified that the recent meeting between Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat was simply a courtesy visit during which Hamzat formally informed the governor of his intention to contest for governor. Residents were urged to ignore the resignation rumours and treat them as fake news.

FIFA plans to reduce player bans with new yellow card system

FIFA is considering changes to its disciplinary rules ahead of the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup to reduce player suspensions caused by accumulated yellow cards. The proposal would see yellow cards wiped after the group stage and again after the quarter-finals, creating two amnesty points during the tournament.

The planned adjustment comes as teams may have to play up to six matches before the semi-finals under the new format, increasing the risk of key players missing major games for minor offences. The proposal is expected to be discussed at an upcoming FIFA Council meeting, where a final decision could be taken.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
