According to a report by Vanguard on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, has threatened to expose the identities of politicians he accused of being behind the abduction of schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He made the allegation while reacting to the recent kidnapping incident that has drawn public concern across the state, insisting that those responsible for insecurity in the region may not be limited to criminal groups alone.
Igboho made the statement on Wednesday in a now-trending video recorded by Wisdom TV, during a meeting with newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by Akinteye Babatunde, at his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan.
The engagement reportedly focused on issues of insecurity, the safety of students, and the broader implications of kidnapping cases affecting educational communities in the region.
During the meeting, the activist alleged that some political actors were directly involved in sponsoring kidnappers operating within Oyo State.
He claimed that the persistence of abductions in certain areas could not be fully explained without considering possible collaboration from individuals within the political space.
According to him, such alleged sponsorship has contributed to the continued activities of criminal groups in the forests and rural communities where these incidents occur.
He further stated that he had earlier volunteered to assist in the rescue of the abducted pupils but was stopped from doing so by the Oyo State Government.
He claimed that state authorities informed him that the kidnappers had issued threats that the victims would be killed if he attempted to intervene directly.
Igboho maintained that his intention was to support efforts aimed at securing the release of the children, but that the warning reportedly communicated by government officials prevented him from proceeding with his plan.
He said, “Later, they (Oyo government) informed me that the kidnappers said if I try to force myself to come rescue the children, they will kill them all. If they are serious about rescuing the victims, they should tell my boys and me to chase them out of the forests in our regions and see if those people will remain there even with their bombs and sophisticated weapons.”
