Sergius Ogun, a former member of the House of Representatives and political analyst, has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) stands a strong chance of securing major support in northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election if it fields a credible and widely accepted candidate.
Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI, Ogun examined the evolving political environment and stated that recent developments have placed the ADC in a stronger position than in previous election cycles. He argued that the party is gradually building influence in several northern states and could emerge as a serious contender in the next presidential contest.
According to him, the presence of influential political figures within the ADC and their existing grassroots networks could significantly boost the party’s electoral fortunes across the region. He identified Kano and Kaduna as two states where the party could record impressive results, stressing that voter sentiment and strategic alliances may play a major role in determining the outcome of the election.
Ogun expressed strong confidence in the electoral strength of key northern politicians expected to be involved in the ADC’s future plans. He stated that it would be difficult for such figures to perform poorly in Kano and Kaduna, insisting that securing at least 25 percent of the votes in both states would be highly achievable.
He further explained that the party’s opportunities are not limited to those states alone. Ogun believes the ADC could also attract support in places such as Jigawa and Katsina, where growing concerns about current political and economic conditions may influence voters when they head to the polls in 2027.
While acknowledging that other political leaders still enjoy substantial support across different parts of the country, he warned against underestimating the ADC’s growing presence in northern Nigeria. He noted that the party has steadily gained visibility and could become a significant force if current political trends continue.
Ogun also discussed the wider opposition landscape, pointing out that Peter Obi continues to maintain considerable support in parts of southern Nigeria. He suggested that if opposition groups successfully coordinate their efforts, they could mount a serious challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress during the next election cycle.
According to him, the APC’s prospects in 2027 will depend heavily on how Nigerians assess the performance of the current administration. He noted that concerns over economic difficulties, insecurity and governance issues remain prominent among citizens and could influence voting decisions.
Ogun also emphasized the importance of a transparent and credible electoral process. He said every political party should support free and fair elections because they provide the most accurate reflection of the will of the people. As coalition discussions and political consultations continue nationwide, he believes the coming months will be crucial in shaping alliances and strategies ahead of what is expected to be a fiercely contested 2027 presidential election.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
