According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, May 18, 2026, a media aide to President Bola Tinubu, Daniel Bwala, has indicated that Nigeria may witness increased joint military operations involving Nigerian forces and the United States in the coming days as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
He made the statement during a television interview with CNN, where he spoke about recent security developments linked to international operations targeting high-profile terrorist figures.
The comments followed reports surrounding the elimination of a globally wanted terrorist identified as Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, who was described as a senior figure within the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
According to international reports, the individual was regarded as the second-in-command within the group’s global structure and had been under surveillance for an extended period due to his alleged involvement in coordinating violent activities across different regions.
The operation that led to his death was reported to have involved coordinated intelligence and military action, with participation from international security partners.
Former United States President Donald Trump publicly announced the development, stating that the terrorist had been located and neutralised after allegedly hiding within Nigerian territory.
The announcement drew attention to Nigeria’s ongoing role in global counterterrorism cooperation, particularly in regions affected by extremist activities.
Speaking on the development, Daniel Bwala explained that the operation reflects a broader security collaboration between Nigeria and its international partners.
He noted that such actions are part of a continuing effort to address security threats that have persisted in parts of the country and the wider region.
According to him, intelligence-sharing and coordinated military responses are expected to increase as part of efforts to weaken terrorist networks operating across borders.
Bwala further stated during the interview that more similar operations could be expected in the near future.
He explained that security cooperation between Nigeria and foreign allies is becoming more structured and active, particularly in dealing with groups linked to global terrorism networks.
He added that these efforts are aimed at disrupting the operations of armed groups that continue to pose threats to both local and international security.
He emphasized that the focus of such collaborations is not only on eliminating high-profile targets but also on dismantling the broader networks that support extremist activities.
According to him, intelligence-driven operations are likely to become more frequent as security agencies refine their strategies and improve coordination across different regions.
The development comes amid ongoing concerns about insecurity in parts of Nigeria and the wider Sahel region, where extremist groups and armed networks continue to operate in remote and difficult terrains.
Security analysts have long noted that cross-border collaboration remains a key component in addressing these challenges, particularly where groups move between national boundaries to evade detection.
He said, “Probably in the coming days, we will see more and more of these operations. It will be frequent.”
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor.
