BREAKING: Igboke Raises Big Question Ahead of 2027 – “Do Votes Really Count?”
Political analyst, Ambrose Igboke, has stated that the notion that the votes of the people do not matter and that election results are already predetermined is false. Speaking in a video broadcast on TVC News, he said clearly that votes do matter because, if they didn’t, politicians would not engage in rallies, interactions, or even pay visits to places they have never been before just for campaigns. He said:
“I don’t agree with anybody who says election results have been predetermined.”
He added:
“I keep asking those who hold that opinion one question: if that is the case, why is it that in every election cycle these people come back to you? If you don’t matter as a voter, they won’t come back to you.”
He stated clearly that there is no way politicians on the ballot would waste time engaging with the masses if votes do not matter. He said:
“Why is it that in every election cycle, someone who has not visited your village for the past four years would suddenly find a way to come to your village?”
He called on Nigerians to come out en masse to vote. He also stated that INEC, as an institution, is a servant of the people and would carry out its duties by ensuring that the correct results are uploaded. He said:
“INEC are our servants. INEC work for us. And when we know our rights as citizens, we can stand our ground against some of the shenanigans that we see.”
