BREAKING: Tinubu Approves Cabinet Reshuffle as Edun, Dangiwa Exit FEC, Oyedele Takes Over Finance Ministry
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a minor reshuffle within the Federal Executive Council (FEC), resulting in the exit of two cabinet members and the appointment of new officials to key positions.
The development was made public in a statement shared via the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. According to the statement, the changes affect the Ministry of Finance as well as the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Wale Edun, who previously served as the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has been directed to step down from his position. He is to hand over responsibilities to Taiwo Oyedele, who has now been elevated to take charge of the ministry. Oyedele had earlier served as Minister of State within the same ministry before his new appointment.
In a similar development, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has also been asked to vacate his position. He is expected to hand over to the Minister of State in the ministry, pending further arrangements.
Additionally, President Tinubu has nominated Dr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma as the new ministerial nominee and minister-designate for the Housing and Urban Development Ministry. His appointment is expected to go through the necessary confirmation processes in line with constitutional provisions.
The directive, as contained in the official memo, stated that all handing-over procedures must be completed on or before the close of work on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Explaining the rationale behind the reshuffle, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, noted that the adjustments are intended to improve coordination within the cabinet and enhance the effectiveness of governance. He added that the move is also aimed at delivering more tangible economic outcomes for Nigerians under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
President Tinubu, in exercising his constitutional powers, expressed appreciation to the outgoing ministers for their service to the country and wished them success in their future endeavors. He also reassured members of the cabinet that efforts to strengthen governance structures will remain ongoing.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
