BREAKING: Iranian President Admits Economic Struggles Amid Wartime Pressure, Calls for Support From Businesses
According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Thursday, May 7, 2026, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has acknowledged mounting economic difficulties facing the country amid ongoing regional tensions and wartime pressures, urging business leaders to work closely with the government to help stabilise the economy and maintain industrial production.
In remarks delivered during a meeting with business executives and later shared in a video by the presidential office on Thursday, Pezeshkian said Iran was experiencing serious economic strain due to what he described as coordinated external efforts aimed at destabilising the country.
The president admitted that inflation, rising living costs, and economic hardship had increased pressure on ordinary citizens, but argued that such challenges are not unique to Iran.
“The reality is that all countries in the world face protests due to inflation, high prices, and economic pressures,” Pezeshkian said. “We are in a war situation, and we have been attacked heavily, so it is natural that we face some difficulties.”
His comments come as Iran continues to grapple with the economic consequences of prolonged regional conflict, sanctions, and disruptions linked to recent military confrontations involving the United States and Israel. The country has also faced growing domestic concerns over rising prices, unemployment, energy shortages, and declining purchasing power.
Pezeshkian stressed the need for better management of national resources, particularly energy consumption, warning that excessive use of electricity and gas could further strain industrial operations.
“We must control excess consumption. We must ensure that electricity and gas for production are not cut off. Instead, we should reduce unnecessary consumption,” he said.
According to the president, proper energy management would help ensure that factories and key industries continue operating without disruption despite the difficult economic climate.
“If we use energy properly, we can supply industries without interruption,” he added.
The Iranian leader also called on private sector operators and business leaders to take greater responsibility in supporting economic resilience, encouraging them to manage their operations effectively while maintaining cooperation with the government.
He assured business owners that authorities would continue to provide assistance where possible, while also pledging transparency about the state’s limitations under current conditions.
“Manage your own affairs, but where you need help from the government, we are ready to assist,” Pezeshkian stated. “And where we cannot, we will be honest with you.”
He further acknowledged that the government itself faces shortcomings due to the pressure created by the ongoing conflict and economic restrictions.
“We want to help you, and you should also help us continue on this path,” the president said.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
