Chris Nwakobia, a prominent legal practitioner and social advocate, has openly questioned the commitment of Nigeria’s top political figures toward achieving a unified front before the next general elections. He expressed deep concern that the current fragmentation within the opposition is a self inflicted wound. By prioritizing personal gain over national interest, he believes these leaders are inadvertently clearing the path for the ruling party’s continued dominance.

According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of Arise News on Sunday May 10, 2026, while assessing the internal crises rocking the major political parties, Nwakobia highlighted the lack of selfless leadership. He asked, “why isn’t Atiku Abubakar ready and willing to sacrifice his individual ambition for the collective good?” He noted that this refusal to step aside remains a significant barrier to any alliance.

The activist argued that the Nigerian political space is currently suffering from a severe case of over-inflated egos among its primary actors. He observed that many veteran politicians seem more interested in seeing their names on the ballot than in ensuring the country moves in a different direction. According to him, this stubbornness makes it nearly impossible for a credible and formidable coalition to emerge.

Furthermore, Nwakobia pointed out that the ruling All Progressives Congress is likely to exploit these divisions to its full advantage. He warned that the opposition’s failure to consolidate its strength into a single, powerful unit is a recipe for electoral disaster in 2027. Without a genuine sacrifice of personal goals, the hope for a truly competitive democracy in Nigeria will remain a distant mirage.

In his concluding remarks, Nwakobia called on the Nigerian electorate to look beyond partisan labels and demand higher standards of accountability from those seeking power. He emphasized that the project of fixing the nation requires a collective effort that transcends the narrow interests of any single individual. He urged leaders to put the country first before their political careers vanish into total irrelevance and historical obscurity.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
