According to a report by The Chelsea Chronicles on Monday May 11, 2026, The number of managers connected with Chelsea since Liam Rosenior’s departure has reportedly reached double figures, and among those linked is Porto’s title-winning coach Francesco Farioli.

Farioli recently celebrated a major milestone as he guided Porto to the Liga NOS title, marking a significant achievement in his career after narrowly missing out on the Eredivisie crown with Ajax due to goal difference in a painful finish.

His impressive record, including winning three out of every four matches, has drawn attention from Chelsea decision-makers, with some believing his strong mentality and winning consistency could be exactly what the club currently needs.

However, opinions among supporters remain divided, with some preferring other candidates such as Xabi Alonso, while others are open to the idea but not fully convinced he is the standout choice for the job.

There is also frustration from certain fans who feel the issue goes beyond managers, arguing that the club’s ownership structure and decision-making process have a bigger impact on performance than whoever is in charge on the touchline.

Farioli, who has been labelled “revolutionary” by Porto president André Villas-Boas, has gained significant recognition across Europe, having previously worked in coaching roles under Roberto De Zerbi at clubs such as Sassuolo before rising to prominence as a head coach.

Despite Chelsea reportedly showing interest and even making an approach, Porto are keen to keep him, and Villas-Boas has made it clear he wants to retain the Italian manager, who is under contract until 2028.

Following a surprise defeat to AFS, Farioli emphasised in his post-match comments the importance of discipline and focus, suggesting he is already planning for next season with Porto and reinforcing the idea that he is not preparing for an immediate exit.

His remarks, focusing on long-term improvement and finishing the season strongly with his current squad, have further fuelled belief that he intends to remain in Portugal rather than move to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Chelsea continue to assess multiple options, with Xabi Alonso emerging as a leading candidate, while other names such as Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola also remain in consideration as the club reportedly evaluates around 20 potential managerial replacements before making a final decision after the season ends.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor.
