According to Arise News, National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Jungunu Mohammed, has declared that he does not recognise Adolphus Wabara as Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees. Speaking on Arise News, Mohammed insisted that Mao Ohuabunwa remains the legitimate BoT chairman, dismissing claims of Wabara’s leadership as invalid.
Mohammed also questioned the legality of decisions taken by the Wabara-led BoT, particularly its move to assume temporary leadership of the party following the Supreme Court ruling that nullified the PDP National Convention. He described the action as a repeat of previous internal crises and warned that such steps could further destabilise the party.
The development highlights deepening divisions within the PDP, as conflicting claims over leadership continue to emerge. The dispute comes at a critical time for the opposition party, with stakeholders divided over the direction of its leadership structure and efforts to resolve the lingering crisis.
