BREAKING: Obi/Atiku: Tinubu Would Send Amendment For The Unimplemented 2026 Budget To Expand Kuje Prison – Dalung

Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Youth and Sports in Nigeria, has commented on the ongoing exchange of words between supporters of Mr. Peter Obi and those of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, noting that both camps are pushing for their preferred candidates to secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking in an interview with a Symfoni correspondent, Dalung addressed the situation, expressing concern over developments within the political space.

He said, “All this thing happening in the political space can be controlled by those leaders of those political viruses. What we’re facing is to misbehave and allow Tinubu to return.

“And those who would be unable to escape into political exile will go into Kuje Prison. Because this unimplemented 2026 budget; Tinubu would send an amendment for the expansion of correctional facilities at Kuje Prison.”

Dalung went on to argue that terrorists and bandits were no longer the primary concern of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming instead that opposition figures were being treated as such.

He alleged that there were plans to detain political opponents if the opportunity to return to power arose. He also cautioned against a rigid stance among younger political actors, stressing that it should not become a case of rejecting all candidates simply because a preferred one is not chosen.

He further criticised individuals he said were commenting from abroad, stating that many were speaking from comfortable locations in America and other parts of the world rather than from within Nigeria. He warned that excessive political ambition could have grave consequences, including the possibility of leaders ending up in detention.

He also advised that major political actors who resist consensus should be mindful of the potential outcomes, suggesting they may eventually have to deal with correctional authorities.
