According to a report by the Cable on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has called on Nigerians to embrace prayer as a primary response to the country’s ongoing security challenges, rather than directing frustration and anger at President Bola Tinubu.

In a recent video message, the singer emphasised the importance and effectiveness of prayer, pushing back against the growing perception among some citizens that prayer no longer produces results in addressing national issues.

“Prayers are effective. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise,” she stated.

Alaseyori emphasized that the issues facing Nigeria necessitate a united spiritual effort, highlighting the need for leaders at all levels of government, including the president and security agencies, to receive ongoing prayers from the public.

She urged Nigerians to set aside political differences and come together in seeking divine assistance for the nation.

“We all need to pray, from the president to every citizen in this country. Every agency and sector requires our prayers,” she remarked.

In response to criticism aimed at government officials regarding security issues, the singer warned against hasty judgments of their performance.

She suggested that there may be unseen or spiritual factors at play that influence situations, which call for prayerful responses instead of outright criticism.

“You can’t say the president or vice president is not working. The security personnel might have gone to rescue them and a charm could have covered their face so they would not see anything. That is the place of prayer,” she said.
