According to a report by London Evening Standard on Tuesday June 2, 2026, Chelsea have decided against pursuing Stade Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen despite recent reports linking him with a move to the club.
Sources indicate that BlueCo have no plans to sign the 20-year-old for either Chelsea or Strasbourg, and claims that he recently visited Chelsea’s Cobham training centre are understood to be inaccurate.
Jaouen has attracted attention after an impressive campaign in France’s second division. His performances have sparked interest from several clubs across Europe. Discussions have taken place between his representatives and potential suitors. However, Chelsea’s owners view him as one of many young goalkeepers monitored by their scouting network, and there are no intentions to advance that interest into a transfer.
The French goalkeeper enjoyed a strong season with Stade Reims. He featured in 34 league matches and recorded 15 clean sheets. His consistent displays earned him a debut for France Under-21s in November 2025. He has also been mentioned as a target for clubs such as Newcastle United and Real Madrid.
While Chelsea are not pursuing Jaouen, changes are expected within the club’s goalkeeping department this summer. Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders is set to join the first-team squad after completing a successful loan spell at Strasbourg. He is expected to arrive after the World Cup and challenge Robert Sanchez for the starting position next season.
Penders return could coincide with the departure of Filip Jorgensen. The Danish goalkeeper is eager to secure more regular playing time and is considering a move away from Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for the 24-year-old during the transfer window.
Jorgensen made only 12 appearances in all competitions last season. He also endured a difficult outing after being selected ahead of Sanchez in Chelsea’s Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, a result that ended the club’s European campaign.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
