According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, April 30, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said that the recent Supreme Court judgment has effectively resolved the leadership dispute within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike maintained that the ruling confirms there is no faction within the party, insisting that the PDP remains a single and unified political organisation. He made the remarks while speaking with journalists at his residence in Abuja on Thursday, shortly after the judgment was delivered.

According to him, the decision of the apex court has brought final clarity to a controversy that had lingered for some time. He said claims that the party is divided are no longer valid in light of the court’s pronouncement.

Wike explained that the court, in a split decision of 3–2, invalidated the PDP national convention held in Ibadan on November 15 and 16, 2025. The convention had produced a leadership structure associated with Governor Seyi Makinde.

He further noted that the judgment held that the exercise did not comply with earlier court directives, which required the party to follow specific legal and procedural guidelines before proceeding. The court also faulted the PDP for continuing with the convention despite prior warnings and restrictions.

Beyond the legal interpretation, Wike also commented on broader political issues, drawing a distinction between institutions and individuals within them. He said his position should not be misunderstood as opposition to the party itself, but rather dissatisfaction with certain actors involved.

He stated that while he respects the party structure, he disagrees with some of the individuals who have played prominent roles in recent disputes. According to him, their actions have contributed to broader challenges facing the country.

The comments come amid ongoing efforts to stabilise internal tensions within the PDP following months of disagreement over leadership and party direction.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
