BREAKING: Tension In ADC As Norman Queries Abdullahi’s “90 Forms Sold” Remark

The spokesperson of the Dumebi Kachikwu-backed faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Don Norman, has questioned the legitimacy of the ongoing presidential primary process being conducted by the faction led by former Senate President David Mark.

Speaking during an interview on Arise News on Tuesday May 26, 2026, Norman dismissed the exercise organised by the David Mark-led leadership, insisting that the group lacked the legal authority to conduct congresses or primaries for the party.

Norman, who identified himself as the National Publicity Secretary of the faction aligned with Dumebi Kachikwu, specifically raised concerns over claims that the rival faction had sold more than 90 nomination forms ahead of the party’s primaries.

“I saw Abdullahi’s on TV yesterday saying they have sold over ninety-something forms, and I ask: who bought those forms?” Norman said during the interview.

He argued that the ongoing primary exercise lacked legitimacy, maintaining that the Federal High Court in Abuja had already nullified congresses and conventions conducted by the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC.

According to him, the court judgment stripped the former National Working Committee of the power to organise conventions and congresses, returning such authority to elected state chairmen and members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Norman alleged that despite the court ruling, the rival leadership continued to act as though it remained in control of the party’s structures. The ADC spokesman also claimed that members of the faction recognised by his group were conducting activities openly while accusing the rival camp of operating without legal backing.

The comments add to the growing leadership dispute within the ADC, as multiple factions continue to lay claim to the party’s authentic structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
