Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a former presidential aspirant, has stated that his sister was kidnapped and taken to Sambisa Forest. He said she escaped after about two and a half years in captivity
In a video shared by Arise TV, Hayatu said his sister showed great courage and strength during that period. He also said that he has lost several relatives to Boko Haram attacks. He said these experiences make the issue of insecurity deeply personal to him
In Hayatu’s words: “My sister was actually kidnapped some years back and taken to Sambisa forest and she was able to escape after two and half years in captivity to be precise. She was a very brave and courageous young lady. That indelible mark still lives with the family. I have a number of relations who have been killed by Boko Haram so it is something that I can relate to personally”
