BREAKING: Kaduna State High Court Adjourned Bail Hearing Of Nasir El Rufa To First Week Of Jone 2026
According To Vanguard On Tuesday 21 April, 2026, The Kaduna State High Court has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El Rufai to the first week of June 2026, extending the legal uncertainty surrounding his quest for pre-trial release.
The trial judge, Darius Khobo, announced the postponement on Tuesday during proceedings in Kaduna. El Rufai was brought to court under tight security, arriving alongside operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission and the Department of State Services, both of which are involved in the case against him.
The adjournment represents yet another delay in the high profile matter, which has continued to attract public and political attention due to El Rufai prominence in Nigeria political landscape. Legal observers say the repeated postponements could raise concerns about the pace of judicial processes, particularly in cases involving influential figures.
During the brief court session, no substantive arguments were taken on the bail application, as the court cited procedural reasons for the adjournment. This development means the former governor will remain in custody pending the next hearing date, further prolonging the resolution of his bail request.
Reacting after the session, El Rufai counsel, Ukpon Akpan, voiced strong dissatisfaction with the repeated delays, suggesting that they were undermining his client fundamental rights.
He said, The pattern we are witnessing is deeply troubling. These repeated adjournments are politically motivated and amount to a deliberate obstruction of my client right to a timely hearing.
Akpan insisted that the defence team is fully prepared to proceed and has complied with all legal requirements necessary for the bail hearing. He urged the court to ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be done, warning that prolonged delays could erode public trust in the judicial system.
As the case continues, attention remains fixed on how the court will handle the bail application at the next sitting, with many awaiting signals on the broader direction of the proceedings and their implications for due process and the rule of law.
Favor As Higher Power?
(The hidden truth)
Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
