According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Abdulmumin Jibrin, the member of the House of Representatives representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in Kano State, has stated that he does not regret supporting President Bola Tinubu instead of his longtime political mentor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to take shape.

Jibrin made it clear that his decision was deliberate and remains one he stands by despite his previous close association with Kwankwaso.

The lawmaker spoke during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he discussed aspects of his political career, evolving alliances, and his relationships with prominent figures within Nigeria’s political landscape.

During the interview, he addressed questions surrounding his movement across political blocs and the choices that have defined his journey in public office over the years.

Speaking on his support for President Tinubu, Jibrin insisted that his position should not be viewed as an act of betrayal or disloyalty toward Kwankwaso.

He explained that political decisions often involve personal convictions and strategic preferences, emphasizing that his backing of Tinubu was based on choice rather than hostility or disagreement with his former political associate.

Jibrin acknowledged Kwankwaso’s influence on his political development, describing him as both a mentor and benefactor.

Despite their differing political directions, he maintained that the bond between them remains cordial on a personal level.

According to the federal lawmaker, political differences have not destroyed the respect he holds for Kwankwaso or altered their longstanding relationship outside partisan considerations.

The Kano politician also reflected on his general approach to politics, saying he has consistently refrained from publicly attacking leaders he has previously worked alongside.

He noted that even when disagreements emerge, he avoids making statements intended to undermine former associates, adding that respect has remained central to his conduct throughout his political engagements.

He further referenced the period in 2022 when he temporarily distanced himself from President Tinubu’s campaign structure.

Jibrin said that during that time, he chose not to publicly criticize Tinubu despite no longer being aligned with the campaign.

Instead, he focused his efforts on supporting another candidate without engaging in negative remarks against the President, a decision he said reflected his principle of maintaining respect despite political differences.

“I have never joined issues with him in public, and I will never do that as a mark of respect that I have for him,” Jibrin said.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
