According to report by Daily Post on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, businessman and House of Representatives aspirant for the Isiala Mbano/Onuimo/Okigwe Federal Constituency of Imo State, Chidi Mike Anyanwu, has appealed to the leadership of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) to release the results of the party’s recently concluded primary elections.
The NDC had earlier announced in a statement on Sunday that the official results of the primaries conducted nationwide on May 28 and 29 had not yet been released.
The party also urged members of the public to disregard results circulating on social media, insisting that such reports were unofficial.
According to the party, the authentic results remain in the custody of the National Executive Council, which is responsible for making the official declaration.
Reacting to the delay, Chidi Mike Anyanwu appealed to the party leadership to release the results, saying the prolonged wait has placed both financial and emotional pressure on him and other aspirants.
In a video shared on Facebook on Wednesday, Anyanwu disclosed that he spends more than one million naira daily while staying in Abuja and waiting for the outcome of the primary election.
He said, “NDC, you people should please release the primary election results. I spend nothing less than one million naira here in Abuja every day.”
The businessman further stated that the financial cost is not his biggest concern. According to him, the uncertainty surrounding the election outcome has created anxiety and affected his well-being.
Speaking further, he said, “That is not even the problem, the problem is the high blood pressure that comes with the anxiety about whether you won or lost.”
His comments reflect the growing anticipation among aspirants and party supporters who are eagerly awaiting the official release of the NDC primary election results.
