BREAKING: Eid-el-Fitr: COAS Preaches Unity, Honours Fallen Heroes, Assures Troops of Welfare Commitment

The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu has extended warm greetings to officers, soldiers, and their families on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration, urging them to sustain the values of discipline, sacrifice, and unity.

‎In his goodwill message, the Army Chief described the end of Ramadan as a spiritually uplifting moment that reflects devotion, self-discipline, and moral renewal—qualities he said resonate with the ethos of the Nigerian soldier.

‎Shaibu noted that this year’s observance was particularly symbolic as Ramadan coincided with the Christian Lenten season, describing the development as a powerful demonstration of unity within the Nigerian Army.

‎“This rare alignment has provided a powerful reminder of the unity that defines us as an army bound by shared purpose.

‎“Although the forms of worship may differ, the essence of both observances is the same—sacrifice, humility, self-restraint, compassion, prayer and renewal,” he said.

‎He emphasised that the convergence of both religious observances highlighted the strength in diversity, stressing that unity does not require uniformity.

‎The Army Chief also paid tribute to fallen heroes who laid down their lives in defence of the nation, noting that their courage and sacrifice continue to inspire serving personnel.

‎“We honour with deep reverence our fallen heroes… Their memory continues to inspire us and strengthen our resolve to defend peace, unity and national sovereignty,” he stated.

‎He further commended troops currently deployed across various theatres of operation, acknowledging their resilience and sacrifice despite operating in difficult conditions far from their families.

‎Shaibu reassured officers and soldiers that their welfare remains a top priority under his leadership, pledging continued improvements in living conditions, professional development, and family support systems.

‎“The strength of any army lies not only in its equipment but in the wellbeing and morale of its personnel,” he said.

‎The COAS also appreciated the collaboration of other security agencies and sister services, noting that synergy remains critical to national security.

‎He expressed gratitude to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support and leadership in strengthening the Armed Forces.

‎The Army Chief urged personnel to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan by upholding compassion, discipline, humility, and professionalism.

‎He wished all officers, soldiers, and their families a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
