Alwan Hassan, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, has dismissed suggestions of welcoming former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi back into the core ruling party fold ahead of future political cycles. He clarified that the party is keeping the former minister at arm’s length to protect its internal cohesion and stability.

According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of Arise News on Saturday, June 6, 2026, when asked about internal party discipline and strategic moves by prominent opposition figures, he stated, “let him stay there and maybe work for us by attacking Atiku, but we don’t want him in our party,” referring to Rotimi Amaechi.

The party stalwart insisted that absorbing opportunistic politicians who lack genuine ideological alignment only creates unnecessary friction within the leadership ranks. He stated that the party prefers its adversaries to exhaust their political resources fighting rivals from the outside rather than bringing structural instability and internal divisions into the progressive fold.

Defending the current positioning of the ruling party, he maintained that leadership focus remains heavily geared toward delivering sustainable democratic dividends rather than managing inflated political egos. He noted that the decision to keep certain controversial figures at arm’s length protects the institutional integrity and long-term stability of the party.

In his concluding remarks, the political leader urged party loyalists to focus their collective efforts on sustaining governance victories and deepening grassroots networks nationwide. He emphasized that building strong, values-driven internal cohesion remains vastly superior to accepting fair-weather political actors whose shifting loyalties only serve short-term personal ambitions.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
