UPDATED: Gunmen kidnap ex-minister Adelabu’s sister, children in Ibadan
The sister of the former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress 2027 governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, and her twin children, have been kidnapped in Ibadan, the state capital.
An eyewitness told PUNCH Online, that the incident occurred on Wednesday, in the Challenge area of Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the incident in a statement, one of the media aides to Adelabu, Femi Awogboro, said, “The family of Adebayo Adelabu, former Minister of Power and leading governorship aspirant of APC in Oyo State, wishes to formally confirm the unfortunate kidnapping of his younger sister, Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, alongside her twin sons, Peter and Paul, in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
“Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, aged 43, was reportedly abducted by armed gunmen at about 7:30 a.m., while on her way to drop her children at school in Ibadan. The abductors also forcefully took away her 12-year-old twin sons, who were with her at the time of the incident.
15-year-old boy killed over food dispute in Kano village
A 15-year-old boy, Ahmed Sulaiman, has died following a violent altercation among teenagers over food in Gwangwan Village, Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident, was contained in a post shared on X, by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Wednesday.
According to the report, the incident, happened on June 1 at about 9:00 p.m., after a disagreement broke out among a group of teenagers in the community.
Police sources, said the argument involved Ahmed Sulaiman, 15, and three other teenagers identified as Abdulaziz Garzali, 13, Amiru Sani, 15, and Habu Mani, 14.
Police recover kidnap victims’ bodies in Edo forest, arrest suspect
The Edo State Police Command, has recovered the bodies of two kidnapped victims and arrested one of the suspects, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement on Wednesday, by the state command PPRO, Eno Ikoedem, one of the bodies, has been identified as that of Favour Nosakhare (66 years), who was abducted by gunmen alongside Emmanuel Annabel Osasere (28 years), and Miss Rejoice Otikpere (26 years) on May 9.
The PPRO, stated that the suspect, who was arrested with a gunshot wound, led operatives to where the decomposing bodies, were recovered.
The statement read, “It will be recalled that on 9th May, 2026, three women, namely Mrs Favour Nosakhare (66), Mrs Emmanuel Annabel Osasere (28), and Miss Rejoice Otikpere (26), were abducted by armed kidnappers, who invaded their residence in the Iyowa Community, Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State and whisked them away into a nearby forest.

Award-winning British actor, Idris Elba, has been knighted by King Charles III in recognition of his services to young people and his longstanding commitment to charitable causes.
According to People magazine, Elba, received the honour, during an investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, where the King formally conferred the United Kingdom’s highest honours on the acclaimed actor.
Photos shared by the Royal Family on Instagram, captured the moment King Charles tapped a sword on Elba’s shoulders as he knelt to receive the knighthood.
The Royal Family, congratulated the honourees in a post, writing: “Congratulations to everyone who received honours at today’s Investiture ceremonies, hosted by The King at Windsor Castle. Sir Idris Elba for services to young people.”
