According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Monday May 25, 2026, while discussing the intense internal competition between heavyweights like Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi, he stated, “we are the only political party in this country today that is not controlled by an individual.”
This significant declaration underscores the fierce democratic contestations taking place within the opposition group as they heavily prepare for the 2027 general elections. The party leadership deliberately designed a system that prevents elite imposition, choosing instead to let ordinary members determine who carries the banner for the upcoming national rescue mission.
