BREAKING: 2027: OBIdient Movement Clears Air On Peter Obi’s Political Future

According to a report by Nigerian Tribune, on Sunday May 3, 2026, the OBIdient Movement has spoken about the political future of Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that the former Labour Party presidential candidate is still consulting widely and has not taken a final decision.

‎In a statement released in Abuja, the movement explained that Obi is holding meetings with key stakeholders, political allies, and possible partners, according to the group, these talks are ongoing and are meant to shape the next political steps.

‎The statement was signed by the Interim National Coordinator of the movement, Yunusa Tanko, he urged supporters across Nigeria and abroad to remain calm and avoid spreading unconfirmed information and described the consultations as careful and strategic.

‎Tanko stated that the discussions are focused on finding the best direction that will serve Nigerians and added that the goal is to ensure that any decision taken aligns with the movement’s vision of building a better country.

‎The group stressed that its core values remain unchanged, these include integrity, accountability, and active participation by citizens, it noted that any future political move will reflect these principles.

‎The OBIdient Movement further stated that Obi is still a key figure in ongoing political alignments among opposition groups, as preparations for the 2027 elections continue, many political actors are said to be exploring possible alliances.

‎However, the movement warned supporters not to believe rumours or misleading reports about Obi’s plans, it encouraged members to stay focused and united while waiting for official updates.

‎Tanko assured that Obi will speak publicly at the right time, he said the former candidate will address supporters and Nigerians to explain his position clearly.
