According to a report by Punch on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has declared his support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing ongoing federal projects in the state, including the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway and various renewable energy initiatives, as key reasons for his endorsement.
The governor made the remarks on Wednesday during an endorsement ceremony organised by the Tinubu Support Organisation held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi.
The event also featured a parallel endorsement of Governor Idris for a second term in office by his supporters, who gathered to express confidence in his leadership.
Speaking at the ceremony, Idris highlighted what he described as notable achievements of President Tinubu’s administration both in Kebbi State and across the country.
He said the Federal Government had demonstrated commitment to national development through the execution of major infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and economic growth.
He specifically referenced the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway project, noting that it represents a significant infrastructure development that would enhance transportation and commerce across multiple states.
He also pointed to renewable energy initiatives being implemented in Kebbi State, describing them as part of broader efforts to expand access to sustainable energy and improve living conditions for residents.
According to him, the presence of such projects in the state reflects the Federal Government’s attention to regional development and its willingness to invest in long-term economic transformation.
He added that Kebbi State has benefited from these initiatives and remains committed to supporting policies that drive development at both state and national levels.
