The Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been honored with traditional royal garments and received the title of “Hasken Abuja” (Light of Abuja) from the FCT Traditional Council.
As per a social media update by Lere Olayinka, the media representative for the FCT Minister, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, this honor signifies the council’s gratitude for Wike’s guidance, efforts in building infrastructure, and dedication to enhancing the Federal Capital Territory.
The recognition was granted under the direction of the Ona of Abaji, Adamu Baba Yunusa, acknowledging his role in advancing the nation’s capital.
Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, was officially dressed in traditional clothing during the event as part of the cultural honor given to him by the traditional institution.
The title “Hasken Abuja” represents illumination, optimism, and advancement, indicating the positive influence of the minister’s leadership and the ongoing reform initiatives in the Federal Capital Territory.
