According to a report by The Sun on Sunday, May 24, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to confront insecurity across Nigeria, stressing that achieving lasting peace and stability remains one of the Federal Government’s major objectives.
He maintained that efforts to address security challenges would continue without interruption.
The president made the declaration on Sunday in Abuja while delivering his acceptance speech after securing the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tinubu used the occasion to highlight key issues affecting the nation, including security concerns.
Addressing delegates and supporters, Tinubu admitted that insecurity continues to pose serious challenges in different regions of the country.
He noted that criminal activities and unrest in some areas remain a concern for both citizens and government authorities.
Despite the ongoing security problems, the president assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to strengthening measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property.
He emphasized that security agencies would continue receiving support to improve operations against threats to national stability.
Tinubu further stated that ensuring a safer environment for citizens is central to his government’s agenda, adding that peace and stability are necessary for economic growth, investment, and national development.
According to him, progress in other sectors depends largely on achieving improved security conditions across the country.
The president reiterated that his government would sustain ongoing efforts designed to combat insecurity, while expressing confidence that the measures being implemented would gradually produce positive outcomes.
He assured Nigerians that the administration would not ease its commitment until affected communities experience improved safety and normalcy.
“We will not rest until we restore peace and stability to every corner of our country,” Tinubu said.
