Mohammed Haruna Jungudo, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP National Working Committee aligned with Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims that former President Goodluck Jonathan is politically associated with their faction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with VANGUARD in Abuja, on Tuesday May 12 2026, Jungudo stated that Jonathan has neither purchased a presidential nomination form nor shown any sign of aligning with their political camp. He also clarified that their faction should not be confused with another group linked to PDP chieftain Kabiru Turaki.
Meanwhile, PDP member Ememobong maintained that former President Jonathan remains a member of the party and has the constitutional right to determine his political future.
The remarks come amid growing speculation over possible political alignments and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
Jungudo said, “Goodluck has not purchased our form yet and he has not been romancing with us, so we are not expecting him to come.”
