BREAKING: On-Air-Personality In The Media Who Trade In Blackmail And Insult Would Always Attract Attention – Bwala

Daniel Bwala, a presidential aide, has taken aim at Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni for his recent overseas trip and interactions with Nigerians in Europe.

In a post on X, Bwala contended that being a media figure does not equate to being a journalist, highlighting that the two roles are fundamentally different and should not be confused. He pointed out that true professionalism in journalism is defined by ethical standards and responsible behavior, rather than just media presence.

Bwala further claimed that some on-air personalities gain attention not through credible journalism, but through offensive language, insults, and what he termed as blackmail. While such actions may capture public interest, he argued that they do not embody responsible journalism.

He also rejected the idea that visiting foreign media organizations qualifies someone as a journalist. Bwala believes that professional credibility stems from consistent ethical behavior rather than international connections or experiences.

Regarding Oseni’s interactions with Nigerians in Europe, Bwala critiqued the portrayal of these events as meetings with the wider Nigerian diaspora. He asserted that the groups participating were primarily supporters of Peter Obi and should be recognized as such, rather than being viewed as representative of all Nigerians abroad.

He remarked, “On-air personalities who engage in blackmail and insults will always draw attention; do not kid yourself.”
