BREAKING: Nigeria’s VP Shettima Confirms That The Admin Of BAT Is Not At All Interested In Insecurity — Odinkalu

In a recent statement via his official X account, human rights lawyer, Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, has reacted to comments linked to Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, suggesting that the current administration is not genuinely committed to tackling insecurity in the country.

‎”#Nigeria’s VP @officialSKSM confirms that the administration of @officialABAT is not at all interested in the insecurity problem in #Nigeria,” he wrote.

‎In his post, Odinkalu was reacting to the circulation of a video clip in which Shettima was quoted as saying that with sufficient funding, he could address the security crisis in northern Nigeria.

‎Responding to the development, Odinkalu argued that the statements appear to confirm that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lacks real interest in resolving the persistent insecurity affecting many parts of the country.

‎He suggested that such statements raise serious concerns about priorities within government, especially at a time when communities continue to face attacks from armed groups, according to him, the implication is that the crisis may not be receiving the urgency and commitment it requires.

‎Odinkalu called for more coordinated and transparent efforts to restore safety and public confidence and maintained that leadership must demonstrate clear commitment through actions, not just statements and implied that until there is visible progress, public skepticism about government efforts will likely persist.
