Media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has questioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent foreign trip, raising concerns over the President’s whereabouts and the timing of the visit amid worsening insecurity and economic hardship in the country.

In a statement shared on social media, Ibe criticised Tinubu’s continued stay outside Nigeria and demanded greater accountability from the Presidency.

According to him, Tinubu departed Abuja on May 3 for visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda, while the Presidency announced on May 5 that the President had met with global investors.

However, Ibe noted that Tinubu only resurfaced publicly on May 11 at the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, prompting questions about activities during the six-day gap.

“The obvious question: what happened in the six days in between? Official engagements, private leisure, or a medical stop?” Ibe asked.

He argued that the country’s current security and economic challenges require the President’s full attention and presence.

“At a time of worsening insecurity and economic pain, Nigerians cannot afford an absentee President. Accountability is not optional,” he added.

The remarks have since generated reactions online, with supporters and critics of the administration debating the necessity and transparency of Tinubu’s foreign engagements.

President Tinubu’s administration has faced increasing scrutiny over insecurity, inflation, rising cost of living and economic reforms since assuming office in May 2023.

As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not officially responded to Ibe’s comments regarding the President’s travel timeline.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
