According to a report by Premium Times on Saturday 16th May 2026, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its House of Representatives primary elections in Kaduna State, with Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen, former lawmaker Samaila Suleiman, and several consensus candidates emerging as winners ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The results were announced on Saturday at the APC state secretariat in Kaduna by Yakubu Hosseini, chairman of the party’s House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, who said the exercise was conducted in line with party rules and with oversight from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In Zaria Federal Constituency, Speaker Abbas returned unopposed and secured 930 votes, strengthening his bid for another term in the National Assembly.
In Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Samaila Suleiman secured a landslide victory with 3,049 votes, defeating Abdulaziz Kaka and Abubakar Mahmoud, who polled 65 and 96 votes respectively.
The primaries also produced several consensus candidates across constituencies. Amos Magaji emerged for Zango Kataf/Jaba, Mukhtar Chiawai for Kauru, Felix Bagudu for Kachia, Daniel Amos for Jema’a/Sanga, and Gabriel Salle for Kagarko/Kachia.
In another key outcome, Sadiq Abdullahi, son of elder statesman Ango Abdullahi, won his constituency ticket with 920 votes.
APC Kaduna State chairman, Atiku Sanke, later declared the primaries concluded, formally endorsing the results across all constituencies.
