Independent Women’s Forum senior fellow Ellie Cohanim appeared on ‘Fox & Friends First’ to address recent developments in the Iran conflict, following President Donald Trump’s decision to prolong the ceasefire while maintaining restrictions on Iranian ports. Cohanim said, “They understand they are on the brink of financial collapse, and time is running short for them. They are more realistic, but the IRGC is in control of the guns, and that gives them power the political players do not have.” Her remarks underscored the influence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which continues to hold significant authority compared to civilian leadership, complicating efforts toward a unified national strategy.
