Speaking in an interview on Platinum TV, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi said the ruling effectively erased the justification used to delist the party leaders from INEC’s portal.
He argued that the electoral commission now has a duty to reverse the action and continue recognising the leadership of the party until the ongoing matter before the High Court is determined.
Abdullahi said the Supreme Court decision represents not only a win for the ADC but also a strengthening of Nigeria’s multi-party democracy, adding that the judiciary should be commended for what he described as a courageous and far-reaching ruling.
He maintained that the party had confidence in the judicial process and warned that any decision contrary to the Supreme Court’s position would have undermined democratic progress in the country.
The ADC insists that INEC must comply fully with the judgment by restoring the names of Senator David Mark and other affected officials on its platform without further delay.
According to the party, the Supreme Court ruling has resolved the dispute over the leadership listings on INEC’s portal, and it expects full administrative compliance while the broader legal process continues in the lower court.
The party reiterated that maintaining accurate records on the commission’s platform is essential for transparency and public trust in the electoral process, especially as litigation on the matter remains ongoing in court.
INEC has not yet issued a fresh public statement responding to the ADC’s latest call for immediate compliance with the Supreme Court judgment ruling.
