In a recent post on Facebook, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has stirred political conversation following his reaction to a recent convention reportedly organized by a faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a strongly worded statement, he criticized what he described as a disorganized and unimpressive gathering, raising questions about the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections.

Fani-Kayode recounted his observations of the event, portraying a chaotic atmosphere marked by overcrowding, discomfort, and internal disagreements among attendees. According to him, the environment lacked basic organization, with participants struggling under poor conditions, including inadequate ventilation. He also described moments of confusion during the proceedings, alleging that some speakers appeared disoriented while addressing the audience.

In his remarks, he highlighted a particular incident where an elderly figure allegedly made an error while speaking, which drew reactions from the crowd. While acknowledging that mistakes can happen, Fani-Kayode used the moment to question the overall coherence and coordination within the faction.

The former minister further criticized the appearance and conduct of some individuals present at the gathering, suggesting that it reflected poorly on the image of the group. He argued that the event lacked the structure and seriousness expected of a political party positioning itself as a credible alternative ahead of a major national election.

Fani-Kayode concluded his statement with a bold assertion regarding the 2027 presidential race. He expressed confidence that if the convention he described represents the ADC’s current capacity, then President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would have little difficulty securing victory.

“If this is the best the ADC can do, then Tinubu has already won the 2027 election. By 12 noon, it will be over,” he said.
