BREAKING: Bwala Reveals Why Obidients Control the Social Media Narrative

In an interview with Arise TV, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, pushed back against criticism from Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar over the state of hardship in the country, arguing that public perception had been heavily distorted by social media narratives.

Bwala acknowledged the strong online presence of the opposition but was quick to draw a line between digital noise and ground realities. “The perception is shaped by social media as regards the fundamentals on ground,” he said. He pointed specifically to the formidable online following of Peter Obi’s supporters, conceding their dominance in that space. “In social media you can never defeat the Obidients. I mean, there seem to be numerous, countless Trojans there,” he remarked.

However, the presidential aide argued that online strength did not translate into real-world truth. “It has been proven that social media is not a true reflection of reality,” he stated firmly.

Bwala then challenged the opposition’s ability to back up their criticism with hard evidence, noting that repeated opportunities to do so had yielded little. “They have been here. You’ve interviewed them. You have asked them questions on facts and figures and fundamentals,” he said, before delivering his verdict on their performance. “They have not been able to successfully debunk our claim, not to talk of advancing their cause,” he concluded, suggesting that the opposition had failed to mount a credible or fact-based challenge to the administration’s record.
