BREAKING: Benjamin Netanyahu: Europe Has Forgotten So Much Since The Holocaust
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Europe of weakening morally and drifting away from the lessons of the Holocaust, saying the continent is “losing control” of its identity and core values.
Speaking at Israel’s official Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony held at Yad Vashem, which was pre-recorded due to the ongoing security situation, Netanyahu said Europe is suffering from “deep moral weakness” and has failed to preserve the historical lessons learned from World War II and the Holocaust.
According to Jerusalem Post, he argued that Europe is now “afflicted” by confusion over its identity and responsibilities, particularly in defending what he described as civilization against barbarism.
According to him, Israel plays a central role in that struggle, not only for its own survival but also for global security.
Netanyahu stated that Israel is defending Europe, which he said has “forgotten so much since the Holocaust,” adding that Europe has much to learn from Israel, especially regarding clear moral distinctions between good and evil in times of conflict.
He further emphasized Israel’s alliances with the United States and other countries, saying these partnerships are part of a broader effort to protect the free world.
He claimed that joint operations against Iran over the past year have significantly weakened the Iranian regime’s military capabilities.
The prime minister also warned that without Israel’s actions, key Iranian nuclear and military sites could have become symbols of destruction similar to Nazi death camps such as Auschwitz and Treblinka.
He credited cooperation with the United States, including former President Donald Trump, for what he described as unprecedented strategic coordination.
Netanyahu concluded that Israel continues to act to ensure future generations are not left asking what could have been done differently, stressing that the country’s military and political actions are aimed at preventing future threats and safeguarding global stability.
