BREAKING: Amaechi: Those That Climbed Back Of Political Godfather To Get Where They’re Should Keep Quiet – Afegbua

APC chieftain and Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kassim Afegbua, has criticized former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, saying he and others with similar political histories should not dismiss discussions about political mentorship and godfatherism.

Afegbua made the remarks during an interview on Arise News while responding to debates surrounding Aregbesola’s political conduct and comments linked to his relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He argued that many politicians who now challenge the idea of political sponsorship themselves rose through the support of influential political figures and should acknowledge that reality rather than criticize those raising the issue.

Speaking during the interview, Afegbua said, “Those ones also climbed the back of certain political fathers, godfathers to get to where they are. So they should keep quiet when some of us are talking.”

The APC chieftain appeared to suggest that Aregbesola and others who benefited from political structures built by senior figures should be cautious in responding to criticisms about loyalty and political gratitude.

According to him, the issue is not whether politicians can pursue independence, but whether they should deny or diminish the role political mentors played in their rise to prominence.

Afegbua’s comments come amid heightened discussions over internal disagreements within the progressive political bloc, particularly as tensions persist over shifting alliances and the future of relationships among former allies.

His remarks have drawn reactions from political observers, with some interpreting them as a defense of political mentorship and loyalty, while others argue they reflect the enduring influence of godfather politics in Nigeria’s democratic system.

The statement adds to growing debate over the role of political sponsorship in shaping careers and whether public disagreements between former allies should reopen broader questions about influence, loyalty and accountability.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
