In a recent interview shared by Arise News, Professor of Communications at Baze University, Abuja, Abiodun Adeniyi, has weighed in on the recent developments surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following the Supreme Court’s ruling on the party’s leadership dispute.

Commenting on the implications of the judgment, Adeniyi noted that while the decision may appear to offer temporary relief, it does not resolve the deeper issues confronting the party. According to him, the legal battle is far from over and could continue to shape the party’s stability in the coming months.

“The ADC has a lot of work to do; the case is going to the lower court, and that can create anxiety,” he said.

He explained that the return of the matter to the lower court introduces a fresh layer of uncertainty, particularly for a party seeking to position itself as a strong opposition force ahead of future elections. Adeniyi emphasized that unresolved internal disputes and ongoing litigation could weaken confidence among party members and supporters.

The communications professor further stressed the importance of internal cohesion, urging party leaders to address structural and organizational challenges promptly. He added that without stability and clear direction, the ADC may struggle to fully capitalize on any temporary legal advantage gained from the Supreme Court’s decision.
