The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has recorded another wave of defections as loyalists of Governor Ademola Adeleke from the Accord Party officially joined the party in Oba-Oke, Olorunda Local Government Area of the state.

The defection event, held in Oba-Oke, witnessed the reception of prominent Accord Party stakeholders led by Baba Alimi Afolabi and Mr. Sunday Adebayo. They were formally received by Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola alongside APC leaders in the community.

Also joining the APC at the event were members of the Oba-Oke Fishermen Association, led by Mr. Sunday Timothy, who pledged their total support for the party ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

Speaking during the event, Baba Alimi Afolabi said he had remained in the Peoples Democratic Party throughout his political life before later aligning with the Accord Party, but lamented that neither party had delivered meaningful development to the people of Oba-Oke.

According to him, the parties lacked genuine community development initiatives and had instead deepened divisions among residents.

“I have decided to leave PDP and Accord after many years of political association with them. The present administration in the state is not focused on community development but on creating unnecessary crises among party members. They are not trustworthy, and I am joining the APC today to work with others towards voting them out,” he said.

Another prominent Accord Party leader, Mr. Sunday Afolabi, described the current administration in the state as intolerant of opposing views and accused it of undermining democratic principles and freedom of political association.

Similarly, the fishermen group pledged to mobilise support for the APC and work towards the victory of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) in the forthcoming governorship election.

Addressing the defectors, the APC Chairman in Oba-Oke, alongside Mr. Wasiu Abiona and Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola, welcomed the new members into the party and assured them of equal opportunities and full inclusion in party activities.

Ambassador Niniola, while presenting the APC flag to the defectors, said the party’s ongoing mobilisation drive in Olorunda Local Government was part of its “Operation Sweep Them Out” strategy aimed at delivering massive votes for the APC in the 2026 governorship election.

He expressed confidence that the APC would secure overwhelming support in Olorunda Local Government for the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, while also strengthening support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Our focus is to ensure victory for the APC in the coming election. By the grace of God, Oba-Oke will be among the first beneficiaries of the AMBO administration. It will be a government for all people,” Niniola stated.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
