BREAKING: US Outlines 6 Points of Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire

According to a report by Sky News on Thursday, April 16, 2026, the Trump administration has released additional details outlining the structure of the Israel–Lebanon ceasefire announced earlier by President Donald Trump, providing clarity on the terms agreed between both sides.

According to a statement from the U.S. State Department, the arrangement is based on six key provisions that define how the temporary truce will be implemented and potentially extended.

Under the first provision, hostilities are scheduled to halt at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (10 p.m. UK time) and remain in effect for an initial period of 10 days. The pause in fighting is described as a “gesture of goodwill” by Israel as part of efforts to reduce tensions along the border.

The second point states that the ceasefire period may be extended by mutual agreement if meaningful progress is made in ongoing discussions. Extension, however, is also tied to Lebanon’s ability to demonstrate effective control over its territory and strengthen state authority, particularly in relation to armed groups operating outside official government structures.

A third clause affirms Israel’s right to self-defence, stating that it may “take all necessary measures in self-defence at any time.” At the same time, it specifies that, beyond such circumstances, Israel will refrain from carrying out offensive military actions during the ceasefire period.

The fourth provision focuses on Lebanon’s internal security responsibilities. It calls for Lebanon, with international assistance, to take “meaningful steps” during the ceasefire to prevent Hezbollah and other non-state armed groups from launching attacks against Israel.

The fifth point underscores recognition of Lebanon’s official security institutions as the sole authority responsible for national defence and sovereignty. It explicitly states that no other group should exercise such powers, reinforcing the central role of the Lebanese armed forces and state security agencies.

The final provision encourages continued diplomatic engagement, with both Israel and Lebanon requesting that the United States facilitate further direct negotiations between the two countries. The aim, according to the statement, is to build on the temporary truce and explore a longer-term framework for stability and conflict resolution.

The State Department confirmed that the text of the agreement was accepted by both governments, marking what U.S. officials describe as a coordinated step toward de-escalation in a region long affected by recurring hostilities.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor.
