Rebuild PDP From Within, Wike Tells Party Leadership

Nyesom Wike urged the PDP leadership to rebuild the party from within by reconnecting with aggrieved members and restoring confidence after its internal crisis. He pledged loyalty and support to the National Working Committee, stressing that recovery would demand sacrifice, hard work, and deliberate grassroots engagement.

He maintained that the PDP remains the main opposition party, dismissing claims by smaller parties due to their poor electoral performance. Wike called for efforts to bring back defected members, while party leaders assured commitment to rebuilding trust, strengthening structures, and preparing for victory in the 2027 elections.

Officials noted that the maritime industry handles over 90 per cent of Nigeria’s trade and holds strong potential for job creation and economic growth. They highlighted ongoing training programmes, planned funding for indigenous shipping, and partnerships with universities to develop skilled professionals and expand opportunities in fisheries, shipping, and port operations.

Ijaw traditional rulers and elders under CITRE declared the April 13 INC elections null and void, insisting the process was suspended earlier and should not have proceeded. They described the exercise as invalid and warned that any claim to leadership from it lacks legitimacy.

The council announced plans to resolve disputes through a seven-man committee before organising a fresh, inclusive election. They emphasised the need for a credible process that would unite stakeholders and prevent division within the organisation.

Mugabe’s son pleads guilty to lesser charges in Johannesburg shooting case

Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, son of former Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe, pleaded guilty to lesser charges of pointing a firearm and residing illegally in South Africa. He denied involvement in the shooting that left his gardener seriously injured, while his cousin, Tobias Matonhodze, admitted to attempted murder and other offences.

The case, linked to an incident in Johannesburg’s Hyde Park, was adjourned to April 24 after plea negotiations collapsed. Authorities have yet to recover the weapon used, while Mugabe’s lawyer rejected claims that his co-accused was shielding him, describing such allegations as unfounded.

Favor As Higher Power?

(The hidden truth)

Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
