According to a report by the Evening Standard on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain has gained a much-needed improvement in fitness just ahead of the Champions League final. Achraf Hakimi has resumed outdoor training as the team readies to defend their European title against Arsenal in Budapest on May 30.
The Moroccan right-back had caused great concern for PSG after he left the field limping during their 5-4 victory in the first leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich at Parc des Princes.
Hakimi abruptly halted while attempting to press Konrad Laimer in Bayern’s half and quickly clutched his right hamstring.
Although he was able to exit the pitch independently, PSG found themselves with just ten players for the remainder of the match since they had already exhausted their substitutions.
His absence extended beyond that particular game, as Hakimi also missed the second leg in Germany and several Ligue 1 matches around the time of the European fixtures.
The 27-year-old, who scored the opening goal in last year’s Champions League final victory over Inter Milan, will be absent for PSG’s second-to-last league game against Lens on Wednesday. This match could bring the Parisians closer to clinching the domestic title, as well as their final league match against Paris FC.
However, the club has shared encouraging news regarding his recovery. A statement from the team revealed that Hakimi, together with Lucas Chevalier and Quentin Ndjantou, is now “training individually outdoors,” indicating a possible return for the match at Puskas Arena.
PSG’s injury concerns did not end there. Kang-In Lee sustained a left ankle injury during the 1-0 win over Brest and has joined Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes, and Warren Zaire-Emery in the treatment area.
The club has confirmed that all four players are currently either engaging in indoor training or continuing their rehabilitation as Luis Enrique’s squad navigates a tough final phase of the season.
